'Korean Gem' is a seedling that was selected at Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum & Gardens in England. 'Korean Gem' leafs out as a light green on large amoenum leaves. The bark is a darker shade of purple-red, giving great contrast with the leaves. The fall color is an electric red. 'Korean Gem' may reach 10-12 ft in 15 years.
