Rhododendron 'Pat’s Pink'
Pink Blooms Azalea
Deciduous Exbury Type Azalea
Auburn University Series Hybrid
Zones 6-9
'Pat’s Pink’ is perhaps one of the best azaleas introduced by the Donald E. Davis Arboretum at Auburn University. The pink blooms cluster with a bright orange blotch on each bloom. We expect ‘Pat’s Pink’ to reach 6 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 10 years.
‘Pat’s Pink’ is named to honor the late hall of fame Auburn football coach, Pat Dye, who was a good friend of ours. It was a sister seedling to the popular 'Patsy's Pink' azalea. 'Pat's Pink' is a more vibrant pink color with a similar color pattern. 'Pat's Pink' is great grower with good blooms. According to azalea expert, Ernest Koone, 'Pat's Pink' should become a mainstay in garden and landscape industry for azalea.
