Acer longipes ssp. longipes is a faster growing heat tolerant maple from the Western Sichuan Province in China.  Acer longipes ssp. longipes has large coin-like green leaves on mature growth. The term longipes means having an elongated point, which refers to the new growth. Fall color is a clear bright yellow. Acer longipes may reach 20 ft in 10 years.
