Fagus sylvatica 'Pendula' Weeping European Beech
Fagus sylvatica 'Pendula'
Rare Weeping European Beech Tree
'Pendula' is a weeping European Beech selection that was existed at a park in England. The old tree was grafted and became popular for its strongly cascading branches. It is recommended to stake 'Pendula' at a young age to encourage a leader. The pendulous side branches are quite attractive, especially as this tree reaches specimen size. 'Pendula' may reach 6-8 ft in height by 4 ft in width in 10 years. This slow-growing tree is a great choice for many landscapes, and can provide both texture and form in a small, manageable package. With a properly staked and trained tree, this selection of European Beech can be an impressive and breathtaking specimen.
