'Conversation Piece’ is a beautiful plant that will start a conversation in you garden. “Did you see that azalea that had both pink and white blooms on the same plant?,” you neighbor might ask you. You can tell them that azalea was originally named ‘Effie Bunce’ after a woman from a Thirkell novel who was very promiscuous woman who had many children of which she had no idea who the father was. Later it became ‘Conversation Piece’ which may be more marketable for those who aren’t familiar with up English novels from the 1950’s.

This azalea may seemed confused on whether it will be a pink azalea, a white azalea with pink splashes , or a pink azalea with a white jewel border variegation. It was actually selected for this. You can have all this color on one azalea. ‘Conversation Piece’ is typically a mid season to late season bloomer. When it blooms it really puts on a show. Conversation Piece’ may reach 3-4 ft in height by 4-5 ft in width in 10 years. Add a punch of color in your garden with a ‘Conversation Piece’ azalea.
