Acer palmatum 'Nanyat'

Bob Baltzer discovered 'Nanyat' and 'Alpenweiss'. Bob provided us with cuttings of the tree so that we could graft and introduce it to the nursery trade. The tree has flat curling leaves like Shishigashira or Ojishi and bright green bark in the winter. In the fall, it displays a bright yellow color. The name 'Nanyat' was inspired by Bob's wife, Nancy, and the Japanese word "yatsubusa" which means dwarf. It is expected that 'Nanyat' will grow to about 6-8 ft in height and width in 15 years.
