This outstanding culitvar was introduced into the world of Japanese maples by the late expert on Japanese maples, Masayoshi Yano, in 1980 and finally introduced into the the United States in 2008. I have grown this excellent dwarf at the Michigan Preserve and it is now here at the NY Preserve. MrMaple continues to deliver excellent and healthy Japanese maples for all of us to enjoy.

The Marmalade arrived with another 2-gallon tree and lost a little soil during shipping. I potted it right away, and it’s thriving. Its colors really stand out among other popular maples. As always, another outstanding cultivar from MrMaple. It arrived in early January and was dormant. I kept my one-gallon tree amongst another 125 different one-gallon cultivars and I planted it in the NY Preserve in late March, 2026. It is budding up and ready to offer its splendor for decades to come.

I recently purchased Dark Ghost along with MANY other trees from Mr Maple, mostly within days of each other. Every single one of them were healthy nice looking trees packaged with care. Dark Ghost arrived fully leafed out with beautiful color. Customer Service responded quickly to my questions and were very friendly.
