'Johnnie's Pink' leafs out in the early spring as bright pink Japanese maple changing to a brown red then to a green. Fall colors on this Japanese maple are bright oranges to reds. 'Johnnie's Pink' is rare and extremely vigorous.

Being an introduction from lower Alabama, this Japanese maple selection is also extremely heat tolerant and performs best in these conditions. This means it is a great Japanese maple tree for that sunny southern exposure part of your yard. It was found and named by the late Harold Johnston after his wife Johnnie, whom his business, Johnnie's Pleasure Plants was named after. It should reach 10-12 ft in 15 years.
