'Aka omote' is a beautiful full moon Japanese maple. New growth is a gorgeous orange-red over top of dark green. The rounded leaves of this Acer japonicum selection have made some label it as Acer shirasawanum. 'Aka omote' turns to a brilliant ruby red in the fall, which is where some have called it "Ruby Red". 'Aka omote' may reach 12-14 ft in 15 years. Give 'Aka omote' protection from the hot afternoon sun. 'Aka omote' was introduced in Japan in 1988.

Gotta love the great color Japonicums give you. Really good size on this one gallon, pushing 4ft and got it for 35$, you can't beat that!
Can't wait to get it in the ground and enjoy it for many years to come. PNW zone 8B
