Acer palmatum 'Allen's Gold'

'Allen's Gold' is a unique Japanese maple with bright orange leaves that turn to a golden chartreuse in the spring. This color-changing phenomenon is what earned the tree its name. 'Allen's Gold' is the first tree to feature both pinebark and stunning spring foliage. The tree's pinebark matures in the 3rd-4th year, giving it a more mature appearance as it ages. In the fall, 'Allen's Gold' leaves turn from oranges to reds. This cultivar can grow to be 12-14 ft tall in 15 years and is well-suited for Zones 5 through 9.
