Quercus robur 'Furst Schwarzenberg'

The oak variety known as Quercus robur 'Furst Schwarzenberg' is a low-maintenance plant, but propagating it can be challenging. As a result, it is uncommon to find it in nurseries. This oak is a dream come true for those who adore variegated plants. The initial foliage is green, but the secondary flush in the summer begins pink and then becomes mostly white with green speckles. Although it may start off small, 'Furst Schwarzenberg' can grow into a tree that reaches 12-15 ft in 10 years after becoming established. This cultivar thrives in Zones 5 through 8.
