Olsen's Frosted Strawberry

'Olsen's Frosted Strawberry' is an eye-catching Japanese Maple variety with an unmistakable unique look. Its striking pink-red variegated leaves are a captivating sight, with bright pink-red hues and deep red veins that become more pronounced as the season progresses. By late spring, the leaves turn to a delicate cream hue with the veins still present, giving it the 'Frosted Strawberry' moniker. This dwarf reticulated variety is sure to stand out in any garden and bring color and texture to any landscape.

The iconic Olsen's Frosted Strawberry was discovered by the late Harry Olsen. This ghostly Japanese maple has an autumn transformation like no other, starting out with bright fiery orange and gradually turning pink-red. It is considered a dwarf maple, reaching a height of 6-8 feet in 10-15 years. To maintain the most impressive and vibrant display of fall colors, this tree should be protected from the hot afternoon sun. With adequate shade, it will put on an annual show that is truly breathtaking. Olsen's Frosted Strawberry enjoys being grown in Zones 6 through 8.
