Zones: 5b-9

Rhododendron austrinum, commonly known as the Florida flame azalea, is a native gem from the southeastern United States, specifically Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. Renowned for its exceptional heat and humidity tolerance, this azalea is ideal for southern gardens. It showcases beautiful golden yellow to orange blooms that are delightfully fragrant, attracting bees and butterflies.

In just 10 years, the Florida flame azalea can reach up to 6 feet in height and 4 feet in width, displaying a charming multi-stemmed habit. As a native plant, it not only enhances the landscape with its ornamental appeal but also supports local pollinators. For optimal growth, provide this azalea with well-drained, rich, organic soil.
