'Pendulum Julian' has a nice purple-red color in the early spring, fading to a nice shade of bronze for most of the summer. 'Pendulum Julian' turns to a bright yellow to crimson red in the fall. The habit of 'Pendulum Julian' is quite cascading, reaching 4-5 ft in height by 5-6 ft in width in 10 years. 'Pendulum Julian' was first recorded in 1935 and is believed by many to have been brought to the United States by Henry Hohman of Kingsville Nursery from Yokohama Nursery in Japan. 'Pendulum Julian' makes a beautiful laceleaf for the traditional Japanese garden, or something a little different for that special spot in your garden.
