'Fujinami nishiki' is a remarkable variegated Japanese maple.This selection was introduced in 1998  by Mr. Fujinami who found this as a chance seedling from Acer palmatum 'Nomura'. The dark foliage is quite showy when the bright pink-red variegation splashes across so many laeves. After the first flush of growth in the spring, give 'Fujinami nishiki' a pruning to remove any reversion.  'Fujinami nishiki' may reach 8-10 ft in 15 years.
