Acer palmatum 'Ilarian'
Rare Pink Variegated

'Ilarian' Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

'Ilarian' is a Japanese maple selection by Talon Buchholz with an extraordinary amount of pink and white variegation that will show off in the landscape. I recommend giving 'Ilarian' protection from the hot afternoon sun as the variegation may burn in the late evening sun in the south. The variegation is stunning on this selection. We expect 'Ilarian' to reach 8-10 ft in 10 years.

Every so often at Buchholz Nursery, Talon has employees that find a seedling in the thousands of evaluations that stand out. 'Ilarian' was found and named after an employee named Ilarion.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Awesome Maple

I received the Ilarion in pretty great shape despite the long distance shipping. It looked like the box got tumbled around a bit but the soil in the pot stay intact. Let's just hope I can keep it alive (in Los Angeles).

Ilarian

This specimen came into me healthy. I originally planted her in the ground but, did not like how she performed. I potted her in a pot and this being her 2d spring, she took off and showed her beauty. This was my wife’s pick last spring and we could not be happier. Mr Maple continues to deliver healthy specimens at a far cost.

Tree arrived in great condition and continues to thrive in
a wooded environment in Eastern Kansas. Part of an order of three trees. We will definitely be ordering from Mr. Maple again.

Beautiful tree.

Bought my tree about 3 years ago. It's fast growing and continues to pop out new variegated leave all year long. Just wish I would have planted in a different spot
