Acer palmatum 'Kentaro san' has extremely small green leaves and a dense habit for a dwarf Japanese maple. This tree was selected by a bonsai master in Japan, Mr. Kentaro, for its unique qualities. It gets a thick caliper to the branching at a young age and roots easy by air layering (the trees for sale are grafted low). This is an excellent small tree for containers. It also looks great as a focal point in the landscape. Fall color is a bright fiery red. We expect 7-8 ft in 15 years.
