'Patsy' is a recently introduced dwarf to mid-sized Japanese maple, reaching 7-8 feet in 10 years. Officially registered as a cultivar in 2012, 'Patsy' features bright chartreuse leaves in early spring that are deeply divided and heavily serrated, with a rich purple-red border. Its dense upright form gives it a soft appearance, reminiscent of a dwarf upright laceleaf, though the leaves are slightly more palmate. In the fall, 'Patsy' showcases vibrant colors of yellow, orange, and red.

The leaves of Patsy are truely fancy. They are smaller than either the dissected lace leaf or species and yet have a very interesting pattern. Think icing on a wedding cake! Just about as fancy as you can get without over doing it and on a smallish leaf! This wonderful dwarf will infact make the most interesting bonsai, but keep your interest all year every year until that happens.
