'Pink Ballerina' is a dwarf variegated selection of a weeping red Japanese maple introduced by our friend, Karen Junker. The pink and white variegation stands out from the deep dark red foliage. While it is similar to ‘Hana matoi’, the red in the leaf is a darker red and the overall growth rate is much slower, making a smaller overall tree. ‘Pink Ballerina’ may reach 3 ft in height and width in 10 years. Give ‘Pink Ballerina’ protection from the hot afternoon sun for best color and growth rate.
