Westonbirt Arboretum is one of the first plantings of Japanese maples in Western Civilization. This arboretum in England is famous for mass plantings of Japanese maples, many of which are very old and mature specimens. One in particular displayed a brilliant orange fall color every year. Esveld Nursery of Holland worked with Westonbirt Arboretum to release this selection as 'Westonbirt Orange'. 'Westonbirt Orange' is a green Japanese maple with excellent orange fall color. Young plants may show more divided foliage than more mature specimens. 'Westonbirt Orange' may reach 8-10 ft in height and width in 10 years.
