'Yubae' is a gorgeous red upright with bright red spring color. In the south this matures to a deep maroon, then a dark red with an emerald green hue to the leaf. While 'Yubae' originally was selected for being variegated, the variegation was unstable, however it was continued to be propagated due to the overall beauty of this red Japanese maple. Fall color is a bright fushia red. 'Yubae' may reach 10 ft in height in 10 years.
