Acer triflorum is quite the striking maple in the landscape. The shaggy bark provides year-round interest, especially in the winter. The green trifoliate leaves turn to bright yellow to orange in the fall. Acer triflorum is exceptionally heat tolerant, making an excellent tree for the south. Acer triflorum is also exceptionally cold tolerant, growing all the way to a USDA Zone 4 Hardiness. Acer triflorum may reach 15 ft in height in 10 years.
