'Wetumpka Red’ is a heat tolerant, red upright Japanese maple selection by the late Harold Johnston, named after Wetumpka, Alabama. 'Wetumpka Red' stands proudly, adorned with dark purple-red leaves. The color on this dark red selection holds well throughout the summer. It thrives best in morning sun, afternoon shade. Growing to approximately 7 ft in height and 4 ft in width over the span of a decade.
