'Malena’ is an extremely miniature dwarf Norway Spruce. The bright green needles turn more bronze-green during the winter. ‘Malena’ is slow growing reaching 1.5 ft in height and width in 10 years. ‘Malena’ is great for small spaces, conifer troughs, and containers. ‘Malena’ was found as a witches' broom dwarf mutation and was introduced in the 1980’s in Switzerland.

She arrived in full beauty! I was so excited to get her in the ground and enjoy her. Did I need to water her as much as I did? Especially after receiving her and then water her until she was soaked? Why not plant her next to the hosta garden for another swim? What a lovely all day soaking rain just after planting. Death by drowning at the hands of an inexperienced conifer gardener.! So sorry my dear Malena!
I bought this conifer to go into my conifer garden. It is very small and likely to stay small since it is a miniature which is exactly what I wanted. Great plant.
