Rhododendron atlanticum

Native Coast Azalea

Zones 6-8

Rhododendron atlanticum, also known as the Coast Azalea, is native to the coastal plain regions from NJ all the way down to Alabama. The white fragrant flowers appear in mid-spring and can have pink highlights across the blooms. In the wild, Rhododendron atlanticum is typically a small shrub, reaching 2-3 ft in height and width. In cultivar, the Coast Azalea may reach 5-6 ft in height by 3-4 ft in width in 10 years. Like many native azaleas, the coast azalea prefers well drained soil. Natively, the soils are quite sandy, but have consistent moisture. Trying to replicate this will give you the best success in your garden.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
