'Santa Cruz' is considered to be one of the most heat tolerant of the coastal redwoods. It was selected by the Saratoga Horticultural Research Foundation in California for its nice conical shape and its ability to grow in a hotter climate than the species. 'Santa Cruz' may reach up to 20 ft in 10 years. 'Santa Cruz' is good in zones 7-9.
