Camellia japonica 'April Dawn' is a highly cold-hardy selection developed by Cliff Parks of Camellia Forest, resulting from a cross between 'Berenice Boddy' and 'Hikaru-Genji' (Herme). This evergreen shrub produces formal double blooms that are small to medium in size, appearing from late winter to early spring. The flowers feature soft pink petals with striking white variegation, often displaying a marbled effect, though some may be solid pink or white. In 10 years, 'April Dawn' typically reaches a height of 5-6 ft with a spread of 3-4 ft, making it a striking addition to any garden.
