'Little Woody’ is a tight dense layering red bud selection with a dwarf habit. Found by Paul Woody, of Morgantown, Cercis ‘Little Woody’ is covered in pink blooms in the early spring, later covered in in leaves in shingle-like appearance. These heart-shaped leaves are a little smaller than the species. The overall habit is vase shaped. ‘Little Woody’ is very distinct and unique. For us, ‘Little Woody’ has reached about 5-6 ft in height in 10 years. It has very slow habit compared to the species, making it excellent for smaller spaces.
