Liquidambar styraciflua 'Variegata,' commonly known as Variegated Sweetgum or 'Gold Dust,' is a deciduous tree renowned for its unique variegated foliage. The green leaves are elegantly edged with creamy yellow or gold, giving the tree a distinctive "dusty" appearance throughout the growing season. Characterized by star-shaped, palmate leaves, this sweetgum transitions to vibrant shades of red, orange, and purple in autumn, adding to its visual appeal. To achieve optimal variegation and growth, it thrives in full sun. Over a span of 10 years, 'Variegata' typically grows to about 15-25 ft in height with a spread of 10-15 ft.
