Its soft green needles emerge in spring, turn golden-yellow to bronze-orange in fall, and drop in winter, revealing attractive reddish bark. Moderately fast-growing at 12–18 inches per year, it thrives in full sun and well-drained, moist, acidic soils, and requires minimal pruning to maintain its shape.
