Magnolia grandiflora 'Bracken’s Brown Beauty' is a compact, pyramidal Southern Magnolia known for its lustrous, leathery foliage—dark green above with cinnamon-brown undersides. Large, creamy white flowers (5–6 inches) bloom in late spring and are exotically fragrant. More cold-tolerant than many Southern Magnolia varieties, it transplants easily and retains more leaves through winter. Over 10 years, 'Bracken’s Brown Beauty' typically grows to 15–20 ft tall and 8–12 ft wide, forming a full, multi-branched canopy. Discovered by Ray Bracken in Easley, South Carolina in 1968, this cultivar is considered one of the finest Southern Magnolias.
