'Kojo no mai' has a spectacular architectural presence in the landscape and garden with twisted and contorted branching that zig-and-zag this way and that. In the spring small white to light pink blooms fill these interestingly twisted branches often before the green foliage emerges. 'Kojo no mai' may reach 7-8 ft in 10 years.

The Prunus incisa 'Kojo No Mai' that I received was a more appropriate size than the last one I bought and looks healthy.
I realize this is probably the shipping company's fault (FedEx) but when I opened the box, half the soil was falling out of the pot into the bag wrapped around the pot. The upper roots were exposed and dry, but what can you do? I put the soil back in and watered it well.
My last one didn't survive our zone 6a (now 6b) Winter, overwintered in an unheated garage. Hopefully this new one does since I don't yet have a permanent spot for it.

I was a little bit concerned when I saw the small root ball and all the leaves were brown but this week there is new foliage and I can’t wait to see it in all its glory
