Acer palmatum 'Kuro hime'
Rare Kuro hime Dwarf Princess Japanese Maple Tree

Zones 5-9

'Kuro hime' is a unique dwarf Japanese maple introduction from Kyoto, Japan. It was brought to the United States in 2008. This Japanese maple leafs out in the early spring as bright pink-red fading to blueish green by mid-summer. The pink-red new growth that appears during the secondary flush appears almost flower-like on the blueish-green leaves. "Kuro" translates as black red, the color of the new growth, while "hime" often translates as princess.

This name can be assumed to try to help describe this beauty of this dwarf Japanese maple. For a miniature, this Japanese maple selection is extremely vigorous. 'Kuro hime' reaches 4-5 ft in an upright and dense habit. Fall colors are bright red. 'Kuro hime' is ideal for small spaces in the landscape and for growing in containers.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.
