Acer palmatum 'Nishiki gawa'

'Nishiki gawa' Pinebark Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

‘Nishiki gawa’ is one of the most popular Japanese maples in Japan. This cultivar has a very unique “pinebark” habit. The “pinebark” appears on older growth as the juvenile bark matures. 'Nishiki gawa' is a classic tree and adds a unique look to any garden. ‘Nishiki gawa’ can reach up to 10-12 ft in 15 years. The pine-like bark is bound to catch anyone’s eye as it stands out beautifully on a tree with palmatum leaves. Fall color can range from yellow to orange-red.

This Japanese maple tree also is very popular in the bonsai trade for its interesting bark.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Great 1 gallon Pinebark..

Tysm for the great looking pinebark maple..I really like where you guys placed the graft. It's perfect for a garden tree and perfect for a candidate for air layers and or a ground layer to remove the graft..heck there is about 1.5" of trunk so if I play my cards right I can end up with a generic Maple and a couple pinebark maples..we will see in the next few years..gotta get it planted and growing. Then I'll make a decision what I'm gonna do
