'Jiro shidare' leafs out in the early spring with small green palmatum leaves. The habit of 'Jiro shidare' has a cascading habit reaching 4-5 ft in height by 6-8 ft in width with a beautiful arching habit.

Fall colors on Jiro shidare are a bright orange to crimson. 'Jiro shidare' was named after Jiro Kobayashi by Kobayashi Maple Nursery in Japan. "Shidare" refers to the weeping habit of this Japanese maple. This was the parent plant to Acer palmatum 'Ryusen'.
