'Sir Damon' is a new coral bark selection with much brighter red new growth and much deeper red older growth than the typical "coral bark" Japanese maple which is typically more "coral" in color.  The green leaves on 'Sir Damon' provide a nice contrast with the truly red bark in the spring and summer. In the fall, 'Sir Damon' turns to a bright yellow. 'Sir Damon' was found at Crispin's Creations Nursery and named after Crispin's son, Damon. Like most coral barks we recommend partial sunlight which will peak the bark colors on 'Sir Damon'. We expect 'Sir Damon' to reach 8-10 ft in height in 15 years.
