Acer palmatum 'Calico'

Rare Calico Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

'Calico' leafs out in the early spring as a bright peach in the early spring, maturing to a bright lime green on red stemmed new growth. In autumn, 'Calico' turns to a multitude of yellows, oranges and reds.

The 'Calico' Japanese maple is excellent for small spaces as this mid-sized shrub form reaches 6 ft with vigor at a younger age, maturing to 8 ft in 15 years.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

Extremely Nice!

Planted as a one gallon in spring of 2022. She went through the brutal heat of summer here in 7a Oklahoma as well as the Arctic and Siberian blasts that winter. Spring growth sported leaves that looked like orange reddish flames! I’ve been super proud of her tenacity after being half frozen. Excellent growth this year, tape measure says just over 3 feet and fully branched out. Love this tree!
