'Adrian's Compact' is an upright red Japanese maple with a dense compact habit. The overall shape can be shrub-like, but typically 2 times taller than wide. 'Adrian's Compact' may reach 6-7 ft in height by 3-4 ft in width in 10 years. In the spring, 'Adrian's Compact' leafs out with a bright pink-red color that matures to dark red. The correct 'Adrian's Compact' has a very wide lobes on each leaf. 'Adrian's Compact' turns to a bright scarlet red in the fall. 'Adrian's Compact' is a great small Japanese maple for small compact places in your garden.
