'Tsuchigumo' is a small deciduous Japanese maple that boasts a broad, upright growth habit. As a semi-dwarf variety, it showcases leaves that initially emerge in a rusty red hue, transitioning to a vibrant green that remains throughout the summer. Come fall, the foliage transforms into a dazzling display of bright gold with crimson edges. Its name, meaning "ground spider" in Japanese, reflects the unique downward crinkle of its leaves. Expect it to reach dimensions of 8 ft in height and 4 ft in width within 10 years.
