Acer palmatum 'Koto-no-ito'

Rare Koto-no-ito Japanese Harp String Japanese Maple

Zones 5-9

‘Koto-no-ito’ is an extremely fine leafed linearilobum Japanese maple selection with an upright growth habit. The leaves on this Japanese maple are deeply divided and string-like. ’Koto-no-ito’ is Japanese for “harp strings” and this describes this amazing cultivar well. The height of this Japanese maple tree reaches around 14 ft over time. The early spring color is a vivid bright green and changes in the fall into shades of orange and red. ‘Koto-no-ito’ is a very enchanting tree and will certainly add an exotic feel to your garden.

Limited Quantities Available !! As we have over a thousand cultivars of Japanese maples, we often do not have many of each cultivar. We recommend that you buy the Japanese maples you want immediately as we often sell out of certain selections.

First order! Great quality!

I recently had a very bad experience with a nursery out of FL and was skeptical about trying another new vendor, but as my gardening adventures are expanding into the realm of bonsai, I needed to find a tree nursery with a nice variety to choose from. Shipping was really reasonable, quick after fulfillment was complete, and the trees that came, way bigger than anticipated! Also, as a person who orders plants frequently, their packaging is one of the best I have ever seen. No soil spilt! No branches broke. Honestly, I have already placed a second order!

Koto-no-ito tree

Have had this tree in a pot since it was about 8” tall and it is now approaching about 4’ x 5’ and ready for relocation off the shady patio to somewhere it can grow more. Wonderfully unique tree with stunning leaf growth and fall colors that are a knockout. Very delicate look but tolerates the Pacific Northwest/ Columbia river Gorge weather just fine. It is spring and I get to watch the leaves come out and mature again. Just incredible!!!!

Beautiful tree

My sister gave me this beautiful tree 4 years ago, and until recently, it's lived happily in a planter. I adore everything about this tree, especially the vibrant Fall color, and can't wait to see it grow in its new prominent spot in the landscape!
