Purple New Growth Indian Bean Tree Hybrid

'Purpurea' is a hybrid Indian Bean tree that is a unique hybrid between the Southern Indian Bean tree and a Chinese catalpa. The result on this tree has large purple red leaves in the spring that fade to green-red to green, with purple leaves on the new growth. Trumpet shaped blooms are almost orchid-like with white blooms that have maroon speckles and yellow accents in the throat. These later develop into bean-like features that hang from the tree. 'Purpurea' may reach 20-25 ft in 10 years.
