In the fall, 'Sister Ghost' turns to a bright golden yellow and, in some years, it becomes infused with orange. 'Sister Ghost' may reach up to 8-10 ft in height and width in 15 years. For best colors on this 'Sister Ghost' Japanese maple, we recommend protection from the hot afternoon sun. This maple is highly prized by collectors because it produces a light wave of color, so get yours before we are sold out. My Bestfriend & I have waited for at least 2 years to replace the Sister Ghost we had growing at least 7 years in a pot that had become badly rootbound & despite our trying to save it she just never came back 😢

Received my first Ghost with this sister ghost. The tree came in two days after the order was placed! The tree is a good size for a 3 gallon, in my opinion. The only issue was a couple of the smaller branches were broken, but I know shipping can be problematic at times. I cut those off and hope the tree will thrive as it grows.

Purchased a dormant 1 gallon in 2023 and sighted it under a giant water oak where it stayed it dappled shade all year. This tree was spectacular. With no maintenance, no fertilizer and little watering, it doubled in size with a very pleasing umbrella form and held its variegation into Fall. Longer than any I have in the ghost series. Thrips and other pest seemed to leave this tree alone. Fall color was really good too. Grown in acidic clay soil that was amended with pine bark soil conditioner and planted slightly above grade. I can’t recommend Sister Ghost enough. A top shelf cultivar.
The tree shipped with no damage and had a good amount of root growth. Great condition. The fall color is amazing. Hopefully I planted it in a good spot.
