'Celebration' leafs out as a vibrant pink-purple with reticulated ghost-like variegation. In the south, by early summer this variegation turns creamy with dark defined reticulated veins in the leaf. The new growth returns to the vibrant pink-purple. Fall color is an intense fuchsia red. We expect 'Celebration' to reach 10 ft in 10 years.
Talon Buchholz claims that 'Celebration' may simply be his best introduction yet. It was found in 2007 from a batch of 'Purple Ghost' seedlings. 'Celebration' performs best with its color when given protection from the hot afternoon sun.

I don't remember exactly what drew me to buying this tree but I'm really glad that I did. It was very attractive when it first came even though I missed the spring color this year.
I planted it where the sun sets behind it and now that it's flushing out again, the colors are so bright that the leaves look like a vibrant highlighter when the light hits it at sunset. It almost seems to glow. To give an idea of how bright we're talking, I left the tag on it, which is red, and the leaves are every bit as noticeable from my porch as the tag.
I'd highly recommend this tree.
This baby has future Maple of the year awards written in her stars I think. This tree is gorgeous. I bought her for her colors and wow...even in late summer....just wow. Outrageous
I love the multiple changes in color. It seems like every few months the tree is adapting and changing to something different. I love it.
Wow! Stunning tree with a lot of varigation. Currently it is pinks and green. The tree is at least 2 feet and very healthy. I put it in a pot so I can play around with sun and shade for the best results.
Like many others, this is one of my favorites. Absolutely stunning.
