This Italian-Japanese maple introduction is extremely bright in the early spring changing later in the summer to this deeper maroon. It will reach about 10 ft in 10 years turning to a bright fire engine red in the fall. This Japanese maple selection is fairly new to America. I expect 'Red Flash' to start becoming the red upright standard Japanese maple as the spring color is so amazing.
