'Geisha Gone Wild' Japanese maple was found as a variegated sport off of 'Geisha'. 'Geisha Gone Wild' is a beauty that leafs out with bright pink margined variegation on a deeper red. By summer, in full sun in the south the leaf on 'Geisha Gone Wild' changes to a green with cream variegation.
When given morning sun and afternoon shade, the spring pink and red coloration maintains for the longest amount of time. 'Geisha Gone Wild' will reach 7 ft in 10 years with a vase-like shape. Fall colors on the 'Geisha Gone Wild' Japanese maple are a hot pink to bright purples.

Geisha may have gone wild, but it has control of my garden. I now have 12 Japanese maples in my landscape and, right now, Gone Wild is my favorite. In zone 6b-7a (depending on who you believe), this tree is in full sun and holds its spring color through June and afterwards it is a combo of pinks, whites, and greens. From a distance, still a light pink. That retention of color next to the other foliage in the area (purple smoke tree, sunshine ligustrum, fire chief arborvitae, hot blonde, etc.) really makes this tree a star in my yard. It has only been in the ground for about 18 months, but has become my favorite. Time will tell whether others vie for that spot, but it is truly a special tree,
When this one gallon sized tree arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at the size! The graft is super clean. Which has been the case with the 5 maples I’ve gotten from Mr Maple so far. The pinks and greens are great! It is doing well in the heat of South Carolina.
This is my 4th maple always great packaging and awesome trees. This one will be in a pot on the deck so we can always look at it. Thank you Mr maple
Tree was a nice size and arrived in good condition in a timely fashion. Have planted it out in the back garden where I can see it from my kitchen window. Looking forward to the show next year!
