'Moonrise' is an excellent full moon Japanese maple selection that is vigorous, hardy and extremely beautiful. Acer shirasawanum 'Moonrise' leafs out with large full moon leaves that are pink-red maturing to chartreuse with pink-red highlights. Throughout the summer, bright pink new growth is displayed, while malting leaf colors of pink to chartreuse provide a dynamic contrast that will stand out in the landscape. 'Moonrise' is expected to reach 8-10 ft in 15 years. Fall colors are bright oranges to deep red.

Tree arrived quickly and in great shape. Taller than I expected for a 1 gallon and has beautiful leaves. I can’t wait to watch it grow into a fantastic mature tree.
I keep saying just one more tree! This time it was a moonrise, from Mr Maple of course! Another gorgeous tree. I got a one gallon size with a plan to keep it in a pot for quite a few years. The tree arrived on time and in great shape. Don't think I could have picked a prettier tree, had I picked it out myself. Now, to find just one more tree...
My Moonrise arrived full of leaves and healthy. It’s chartreuse color makes a nice contrast against my other 7 reddish Japanese Maples. I’m looking forward to the Fall color change. I just hope it can handle our oppressive Louisiana summer heat. I’m in zone 8b and have my Moonrise in dappled sun in the morning and all shade and n the afternoon.
My moonrise shipped quickly and arrived in great shape. It is in the ground and doing great in afterrnoon sun and summer heat!
