Hydrangea macrophylla 'Elizabeth Ashley’ is a new hydrangea you will want in your garden. This is the perfect cut flower hydrangea. Strong stems with large  strong blooms make this the perfect hydrangea to display in flower vases in your home. The tight compact habit makes ‘Elizabeth Ashley’ a great container plant. ‘Elizabeth Ashley’ may reach 3 ft in height and width in 10 years.

‘Elizabeth Ashley’ may display pink or blue flowers depending on the pH of the soil. To have ‘Elizabeth Ashley’ bloom blue, change the pH of the soil to being more acidic. One way to do this is using a more acidic fertilizer. To make ‘Elizabeth Ashley’ bloom pink, give this hydrangea lime. This will make the pH of the soil more alkaline and will transform the blooms to pink. ‘Elizabeth Ashley’ was bred by Kolster BV in Holland and introduced by Anthony Hoke.

Part of the proceeds from ‘Elizabeth Ashley’ go to the Elizabeth Ashley Hoke Memorial Trust which gives out scholarships to honor Anthony’s daughter.
