'Goldilocks' is a excellent small conifer with spring interest. Pinus parviflora 'Goldilocks' has golden yellow variegation on the new growth, which contrasts nicely with the older blue-green needles. Originally a cultivar from Japan named 'Tenysu-kazu', this selection has become popular under the name 'Goldilocks'. 'Goldilocks' has tighter compact habit, adding to the ongoing show this pine displays in the garden. 'Goldilocks' may reach 3-4 ft in height and width in 10 years. In hotter climates, give 'Goldilocks' some protection from the hot afternoon sun.
