'Oculus Draconis' makes a beautiful, variegated specimen of a Japanese red pine. Originally spotted in Japan by Heinrich Mayr in the late 1800's, this tree is still unique and different. For us, 'Oculus Draconis' is quite strikingly variegated. Make sure to keep 'Oculus Draconis' away from dry winds. Protected locations help keep this tree from burning, especially in the mid-west. 'Oculus Draconis' may reach 10-12 ft in 10 years.

Stunning conifer!

Vigorous, healthy plant with a well formed root system. Variegation is out standing! After a few days in the shade to acclimate to life outside the greenhouse, I've had it on the deck in full sun which it has tolerated well. Looking forward to watching it grow.
