Rhododendron trichanthum is a purple flowering rhododendron. This evergreen, upright shrub has oblong green to mauve colored leaves and can vary to a dark purple-plum color. The vibrant purple blooms pop out May - June and are stunning. These upright shrubs can grow up to 5-7 ft in height in 10 years. Rhododendron trichanthum is often mispelled as Rhododendron tricanthum.
